27 May 2015Hello, all!
I wanted to take a moment to discuss SEO’s. I have a very good friend who has had amazing results with his websites and books and he has been throwing tips at me left and right. I take his tips and run with them and every time I see instant and amazing results!
His most recent nudge was toward SEO. Believe it or not, this has a lot to do with Blog Tours and I’m going to pass it on to you.
SEO is an acronym for “Search Engine Optimization.”
A search engine is the program you use to search the internet. Google is the top SE and is owned by Google. Google owns the patented software program that no one can touch for another ten years. So in ten years, Bing and Yahoo will be just as good as Google. They have good people at Google. Yahoo is owned by Yahoo and Bing is owned by Microsoft.
Take a moment to type your name into Google. What do you get? Now, type my name, “Angela B. Chrysler” What did you get? My name takes up all of Page #1 of Google and I bumped the official Chrysler Corporation website link half way down to Google’s second page (heheheeee…) How I did this is by using SEO. If you type in “Chrysler” I pop up half way down the first page. Granted, people googling “Chrysler” are probably looking for cars and not books, but you see how SEO works.
SEO is what you will use to get you and your books found.
Here are some simple rules to follow.
1 – Select a keyword.
I selected three. “Brain to Books,” “Blog Tour,” and “Angela B. Chrysler.” Type in any of these three keywords and I am there. Even if you type “Brain Books” into the SE, my articles and links pop up. How did I do it? Post articles across all social media. Every day and everywhere. When you post BE SURE your “keyword” is used…every time.
2 – When you post or submit a JPEG for anything, use your keyword to name it. Do not call it “bio” or “pic” or “book cover.” That way, if a reader types your keyword, your book will pop up.
3 – Check out this link! Awesome advice.
