We are wrapping up things. CyCon is two weeks away. Registration is closed, though later comers are welcome.

Behind the scenes, management and volunteers are finishing with the last of the plans and scrambling to get things squared away. We are currently notifying authors for information we are needing from you. Please watch your inboxes.

Your Forms

Author Form: This form is now open. This form is required by everyone who registers in 2018. This provides us with your Author Name, email address, and genre(s). Joe's Bar

Current Status: At the moment, we are taking orders and collecting information. On 1 April 2018, we will send your information to Joe Compton who will contact you in April with further direction.

What is it? Joe’s Bar is our 72- hour live coverage of CyCon. It’s our author lounge where authors are welcome to come in, crash, chat, and hang out.

What do I have to do? Do nothing. Stand by and wait until 1 April 2018. You will not receive any emails regarding this event until 1 April 2018.

Register for Joe’s Bar then standby until 1 April 2018. I send your email over to Joe Compton. Throughout CyCon Joe will email you the “join” links on Google Hangouts.

What do I need? A microphone, earbuds/headphones, and a Google Account.

How hard is this? It isn’t if you love to socialize.

What do I have to do? Purchase this event and wait. Joe Compton will contact you 1 April 2018 with further instruction.

Author Trade Show

Current Status: Anita Stewart (A.F. Stewart) is finishing up with the Author Trade Show and will be contacting you for information as she needs it.

What is it? Our Author Trade Show is hosted on Goodreads. View the Showcase—>>>.

What do I have to do? Sign up then watch your inbox. Feel free to enter the Goodreads Fairgrounds and add to your “booth” once Anita has it posted. Our volunteers builds you a “booth” (a conversation thread) in our Fairgrounds on Goodreads.

What do I need? A Goodreads account.

How hard is this? You will need to know your way around Goodreads or have a willingness to learn. Be ready to work with Anita Stewart.

Character Tournaments

Current Status: Genre Managers are finalizing contests. This week, the contests will be added to B2BCyCon.com Each Genre Manager will be building this event for their genre only. Some genres are not compatible with Character Tournaments.

What is it? We pit characters against each other in a description that win over voters. Voters are given three days to make their choice which character they love the most, and a winner is decided by the end of CyCon.

What do I have to do? If you signed your character up for the Tournaments, your genre manager will be emailing you shortly requesting details about your character.

Authors have to be ready to write up a winning character card that sells their character. We will be needing your “character card.”

What do I need? The will and want to write up a smashing depiction of your character.

How hard is this? It depends on how kind the muse is to you. You just need to be ready to describe your character inside and out.

Blog Tours

Current Status: Genre Managers are contacting authors and blog tours are almost done.

What is it? Every Author signed up for Blog Tours builds a special post for CyCon on their website. Here, readers will be directed from CyCon and around a host of sites to see what you have to offer.

What do I have to do? Be ready to build a post on your website. Get us the link as soon as possible. Link checkers will be browsing the blog tours to confirm all the links work. Once you are set up and ready to go, simply submit the link on the Data Form. Be ready to embed two links to your post directing readers to and from the next post in the tour.

What do I need? A website and the know-how to send us the permalink.

How hard is this? It isn’t so long as you know how to build a post on your website.

Book Expo

Current Status: This week, Angela B. Chrysler is building the Expo.ONLY BOOKS RECEIVED VIA THE BOOK FORM WILL BE ADDED TO B2BCYCON.COM

What is it? This is the heart of CyCon. All life revolves around it. This is where readers go. It is a grand list of all (or most) of the books in CyCon.

What do I have to do? You will need to fill out the Book Form as soon as possible. We will need on Book form for every Book Expo you purchased.

Get your book’s information to us so we can add it to the showcase. Each book is tagged with the author’s name and all the events the author is participating in. A single book in the Expo, can easily span over half a dozen showcases on the site.

What do I need? A published book, The Book Expo form, and your order number.

How hard is this? It may take a few minutes of your time.

Story Time

Current Status: Karina Kantas is finishing up with Story Time and we are posting the videos to YouTube and B2BCyCon.

What is it? A collection of our narrators sit down and read an excerpt of your published work.

What do I have to do? Register then email your 700 to 1,000 word excerpt to us at [email protected] Subject line “CYCON 2018 STORY TIME.” We need to know if you want a male or female to read and if you want an American or an English accent. This information is to be submitted on the Data Form.

What do I need? Something you’ve written, published or unpublished, and the rights to your submission.

How hard is this? Authors have reported that the hardest part is deciding which excerpt to send in or write something new!

Mass Giveaway

Current Status: We are now accepting entries. Learn More

What is it? Brain to Books hosts a vast giveaway. There is a winner for every genre.

What do I have to do? Submit your giveaway! eBooks are hosted on Instafreebie. The physical giveaway is available. at B2BCyCon.com

On our last day of CyCon, you will receive an email notifying you of the winner and their information. Then you decide if you want to send the winner(s) something or not.

What do I need? You need something to give away. This can be a book, many books, and/or swag.

How hard is this? You will be responsible for getting your stuff to the winners. You are 100% responsible for shipping, handling, gifting, contacting the winner(s) if you need, and getting your stuff to them in time. (You have until June 2018). Brain to Books does not accept materials and will not award/ship anything on your behalf.

WE DO NOT PUBLICLY ANNOUNCE YOUR GIVEAWAY. THIS ALLOWS AUTHORS TO ADJUST THEIR GIVEAWAYS TO REFLECT THEIR FINANCIAL NEEDS IN APRIL 2018.

"Just Read"

Current Status: Just Read is up! Check it out on our blog.

What is it? New for 2018, authors can submit a chapter or an excerpt via email to be posted on the B2BCyCon.com blog entitled “Just Read.”

What do I have to do? If you signed up for Just Read, please get your story to us ASAP. Email your 2,000 – 5,000 word short story or excerpt to [email protected] Subject line “B2BCYCON 2018 JUST READ”

What do I need to do? You need to have something written.

How hard is this? It isn’t. You just send us your chapter/excerpt.

Daisy Chain

Current Status: At the moment, Anita Stewart is adding this event to the Author Showcase on Goodreads. Check them out on Goodreads.

What is it? Remember the game we played in high school where you started a story and your friends continued it. New for 2018, we are launching a Daisy Chain Story for every genre. Anytime after 1 March 2018, head on over to the Author Showcase and add to the story of your genre as many times as you want!

What do I have to do? Take a moment or an hour and just write with some fellow authors in your genre. You can be as serious or as zany as you want.

What do I need for this? Creativity and imagination.

How hard is this? It isn’t so long as you don’t have a bad case of writer’s block.

Nerd Rage

Current Status: Nerd Rage is currently cancelled due to Angela simply missing Ani too much to host a Nerd Rage without Ani. I hope to bring back Nerd Rage for 2019.

What is it? New for 2018, “Nerd Rage” embraces the open debate for the taboo. Become a word warrior and get your nerd on.

What do I have to do? Be ready to record March 2018.

What do I need? You need to have a microphone, headphones/earbuds, and a Zoom account.

How hard is this? It isn’t. Show up ready to argue. This event is pre-recorded. We do not record live. WARNING: WE TALK POLITICS, RELIGION, AND THE MIDDLE EAST CONFLICT. IF YOU ARE EASILY OFFENDED AND/OR SENSITIVE TO TRADITIONALLY BANNED TOPICS, THIS MAY NOT BE THE EVENT FOR YOU.

The Brain to Books Anthology

Current Status: The book is currently being formatted. We should have the manuscript back within the week!

What is it? Brain to Books publishes an Anthology once a year for CyCon. All submissions are accepted.

What do I have to do? Write something up to 10,000 words long and email it to [email protected] on or before 1 March 2018.Subject line “B2BCYCON 2018 ANTHOLOGY”

What do I need? Just the will to write.

How hard is this? As hard as it is to write anything with or without writer’s block.

THIS EVENT IS NOW CLOSED

Panel Discussions

Current Status: Genre Managers should have emailed you with further information. Many panels are being hosted during CyCon.

What is it? Authors come to a webinar to discuss a range of topics. From World Building, Fantasy, the tech in Science Fiction, creature creation in paranormal, Marvel vs. DC, or how much we hate (or love) Twilight.

What do I have to do? At the moment, please stand by. Be ready to come on camera March and April 2018.

What do I need? You will need a microphone, earbuds/headphones, and a quiet recording environment. Webcam is optional (A number of our authors attend off camera). We use Zoom and Google Hangouts. Both services are free.

How hard is this? This can be complicated depending on your family life and work schedule. All sessions are scheduled one month in advance, so you will have ample opportunity to request the time off from work if you need to.

I recommend this event only for anyone who loves talking. This is the perfect cure for the introvert if you looking to socialize.

Cover Wars

Current Status: Genre Managers are building this event. The contests are going live this week.

What is it? It’s a contest between best cover design. Voters select and vote for their favorite book covers.

What do I have to do? If you signed up for Cover Wars, get your book cover to us now. Email your book cover to [email protected] Subject line “B2BCYCON 2018 COVER WARS”

What do I need? A book cover, published, or unpublished. DO NOT SEND US YOUR COVER REVEAL FOR THIS EVENT. We publish early and can not guarantee or track when your cover will go live.

How hard is this? It can be hard if you send us a cover too small to use. All covers must be 300 DPI or larger and have dimensions of 1200 x 2500 or larger. We can not work with small covers.

I recommend this event only for authors who have a large file of their book cover.

Current Status: Joe Compton is organizing interviews with authors. Please direct all questions to Joe Compton of GoIndieNow.

What is it? From February through April, Brain to Books offers a 15 to 30-minute moment to talk about your book. SPACES ARE LIMITED.

What do I have to do? Please stand by. After 1 March 2018, you will receive directions on how to schedule your interview.

What do I need? A microphone, headphones/earbuds, availability, and a quiet recording environment.

How hard is this? It isn’t if you love to talk.

I recommend this event for anyone eager to get on YouTube and talk.

Book Trailers on Display

Current Status: Angela is posting trailers this week.

What is it? New for 2018, Book Trailers on Display is just that. We are taking book trailers and composing a playlist on YouTube and on B2BCyCon.com allowing readers to sit back and just watch. Your corresponding book will be presented in it’s own showcase alongside your book.

What do I have to do? If you signed up to display your Book Trailers, send us your FULL YouTube URL now. Email the URL to [email protected] and use subject line “B2BCYCON 2018 – BOOK TRAILER”

What do I need to do? You need to have a Book Trailer posted on YouTube. We must have the YouTube URL

How hard is this? Be ready to submit your book trailer in February 2018.
