Check In

Not sure what to do next? Select the event you ordered and review your next set of instructions, or just check the status of our progress.

We recommend "checking in" twice a month February 2018. We recommend "checking in" weekly March 2018.

Submit your Information

Brain to Books operates on minimum software and resources to keep the registration affordable for authors. We do not have the staffing or the resources to store information. Please do not ask us to use what you may have provided from previous years.

Author Form: This form opens with registration on 1 October 2017. This form is required by everyone who registers in 2018. This tells us what your Author Name is, and gets you to your genre manager. Without this form, you will miss important emails.

THIS FORM CLOSES ON 1 MARCH 2018

Book Form: We do not collect data until January 2018. This form provides us with your submission’s data. We need one form for every event you have purchased.

THIS FORM CLOSES ON 1 MARCH 2018

Late Registration

On 1 March 2018, we switch modes as volunteers begin building CyCon and start recording Panels. March is crunch time. For this reason, we change our format in March.

Late Registration Form: This form is open from 1 March 2018 to 10 April 2018.

These forms exist, and are not available to the general public.

  • Blog Hop Form (Authors who purchase the Blog Hop, will be given this form on 1 January 2018 through 1 March 2018)
  • Volunteer Form (Volunteers only)
  • Book Trailer Form: Submit your book trailer when you spend $20.00 or more
  • Excerpt Form: Submit a chapter/excerpt for reading when you spend $20.00 or more
  • Blogger Form: Volunteer your blogging services/blog for the B2BCyCon 2018

Joe's Bar

What is it? Joe’s Bar is our 72- hour live coverage of CyCon. It’s our author lounge tucked away “Behind the Scenes” where authors are welcome to come in, crash, chat, hang out, drink… you name it! Sometimes, we don’t wear pants.

What do I have to do? Sign up, then do nothing. 1 April 2018 I send your email over to Joe and he emails you the “join” links on Google Hangouts.

What do I need? A microphone, earbuds/headphones, and you 🙂 Pants are optional.

How hard is this? It isn’t. You show up and talk.

I recommend this event for everyone, including first years!

Author Showcase

What is it? Author Showcase is hosted on Goodreads. It allows authors to get in with their hands.

What do I have to do? Sign up, then wait. Our volunteers builds you a thread or “booth” in our Fairgrounds on Goodreads where authors are invited to then dress up however they wish.

What do I need? A Goodreads account.

How hard is this? It requires some working knowledge of Goodreads or a willingness to learn.

I recommend this event for everyone, including first years! It’s very popular among First Years.

Character Tournaments

What is it? We pit characters against each other in a description that win over voters. Voters are given three days to make their choice which character they love the most, and a winner is decided by the end of CyCon.

What do I have to do? Authors have to be ready to write up a winning character card that sells their character. When the time comes (1 February 2018), we will ask you for your “character card.”

What do I need? The will and want to write up a smashing depiction of your character.

How hard is this? It depends on how kind the muse is to you. You just need to be ready to describe your character inside and out.

I recommend this event for everyone, including first years!

Book Expo

What is it? This is the heart of CyCon. All life revolves around it. This is where readers go. It is a grand list of all (or most) of the books in CyCon.

What do I have to do? In January 2018, be ready to give us your book’s information so we can add it to the showcase. Each book is tagged with the author’s name and all the events the author is participating in. A single book in the Expo, can easily span over half a dozen showcases on the site.

What do I need? You need to be available in February 2018 to provide information when we ask.

How hard is this? It can take a few minutes of your time.

This is Angela’s number one event. More than anything, this is what she sells to readers. It’s in the name, “Brain to Books Cyber Convention and Book Expo.” Seriously. Get your book in there!

What is it? Brain to Books hosts a vast giveaway. There is a winner for every genre.

What do I need? You need something to give away. This can be a book, many books, and/or swag.

How hard is this? You will be responsible for getting your stuff to the winners. You are 100% responsible for shipping, handling, gifting, contacting the winner(s) if you need, and getting your stuff to them in time. (You have until June). Brain to Books does not accept materials and will not award/ship anything on your behalf.

I recommend this event for anyone with the budget to provide prizes.

Awards Program

Status: B2BCYCON 2018 is closed. Event registration opens 1 October 2017

What is it? New for 2018, Brain to Books now offers an awards program. Based on our numbers, we need each author to spend $20.00 to cover the cost of CyCon. Anything less than this and we financially fall short (and Angela has to pay out of pocket). Instead of making the $20.00 mandatory for everyone, we have decided to offer an awards program to those who spend the $20.00, while keeping the $5, $10, and $15 option open to everyone.

Authors who spend $20.oo or more have the option of submitting an excerpt to the “Just Read” event on B2BCyCon.com. They also may submit their book trailer.

What do I need to do? If either of these events interest you, be sure you spend $20.00 or more when placing your order. (The $20.00 does not have to be spent in a single transaction and can be spread out over multiple orders). We track this on our end.

Important note: Angela B. Chrysler has to manually go in and approve each order. From October 2017 to January 2017, this is done on every Friday. If you want Angela to approve your order right away, message your request on Facebook

Panel Discussions

Status: B2BCYCON 2018 is closed. Event registration opens 1 October 2017

What is it? Authors come to a webinar to discuss a range of topics. From World Building, Fantasy, the tech in Science Fiction, creature creation in paranormal, Marvel vs. DC, or how much we hate (or love) Twilight.

What do I have to do? Be ready to come on camera March 2018 and April.

What do I need? You will need a microphone, earbuds/headphones, and a quiet recording environment. Webcam is optional (A number of our authors attend off camera). We use Zoom and Google Hangouts. Both services are free.

How hard is this? This can be complicated depending on your family life and work schedule. All sessions are scheduled months in advance, so you will have ample opportunity to request the time off from work if you need to.

I recommend this event only for anyone who loves talking. This is the perfect cure for the introvert if you looking to socialize.

Blog Hop

Status: B2BCYCON 2018 is closed. Event registration opens 1 October 2017

What is it? Traffic is directed from B2BCYCON.COM to your website, page, or blog.

What do I have to do? You must build your own page or post on your website. The post must be scheduled for 1 April 2017. You must send us the Permalink and be ready to test the link.

What do I need? You will need a blog or website. We do not accept Facebook pages social media links. This event is only available for websites and/or blogs.

How hard is this? This depends on how much you know about website building.

You will need some working knowledge on building a post/page for you site. You will need to send us your post’s permalink. If you do not know what this is, or are limited on website knowledge, you may find this event challenging. We will copy/paste whatever you send us, so if you spell something wrong, fail to paste only a portion of the link, or send us the wrong link, that is what we will post. You must be able to post the correct link and get it to us.

You will also need to design the page/post yourself. You can post whatever you want on your site. Depending on your website knowledge/experience, this could take a few minutes or several hours of your time.

I recommend this event only for those who are confident or familiar in working with websites.

I recommend this event only for authors who have a large file of their book cover.
